May 27th, 1942 - January 18th, 2025
Olen Dale Wilson passed away on January 18, 2025, of natural causes. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 25th at 10:00 am, with a family gathering to be held at 9:00 am at the Nyssa LDS Stake Center, 1309 Park Ave, Nyssa, OR 97913
Olen was born May 27, 1942, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Robert Warren Wilson and Ollie Nadine Farni. The first of their four children, Olen is preceded in death by his brother Arch Wilson, and sister, Barbra Griffin. He is survived by a sister, Cheryl Esplin.
Olen is also survived by his wife, Deanna Wilson, and their six children and spouses. Marla Froerer (Craig), Mark Wilson (Naomi), Martin Wilson (Holly), Marvin Wilson (Amy), Marlon Wilson (Kristin), and Mardine Olsen (Jared). He also leaves behind 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
A 1960 graduate of Fruitland High School, Olen served as student body president and enjoyed athletics, especially track. After high school, Olen served in the Army National Guard before returning to Idaho, where he married his high school sweetheart, Deanna. Although he would say he was an electrician by trade, Olen was really a "Jack of all trades." When it came to service, Olen never knew a stranger. Whatever he had, he gave, expecting nothing in return.

Our story begins in 1907 when the Peterson family, who owned a furniture store in Ontario, helped with funeral arrangements and sold caskets from the store’s basement. Over the years, the business has grown and had a number of owners, partnerships and names.
