Marcia Yvonne Lanckriet, 71 of Lacey, Washington died at her home after a short illness on January 13, 2025.

She was born in North Platte, Nebraska on February 18, 1953, to Melvin Thomas Caldwell and Mildred Juanita (Ross) Caldwell. She grew up in Keith County, Nebraska on several farms that her parents owned, and graduated from Big Springs High School in 1971.

She married Bernard Andrew Lanckriet on Sept. 21, 1973, in Julesburg, Colorado. In 1974, Bernard joined the US Army, and they spent the next 20 years living in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, Ft. Lewis, Washington, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, Lewiston & Wilton, Maine, and Herborn-Seelbach, Germany. They settled in Yelm, Washington after Bernard retired in 1994. Shortly after his retirement they divorced and she moved to Lacey, Washington so she could live closer to her daughter and granddaughter.

She earned a bachelor's degree in teaching from St. Martin's College in 1998, and a master's degree in teaching from Lesley University in 2002. She worked for Clover Park School District from 1992 to 2021 and taught elementary school from 1999 to 2021. When she retired, she was a Kindergarten teacher at Rainier Elementary on Joint Base Lewis Maccord. She enjoyed painting, audiobooks, and playing card games with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her ex-husband.

She is survived by her brother Melvin Duane Caldwell of Upland, California. Her daughter Jodie (Greg) Mansuy of Lacey, Washington, and her granddaughter Amanda (Julian, Marcus) Mansuy of Mitchell, South Dakota.
