Eugene "Gene" Miles Fowler
September 25th, 1933 - January 4th, 2025
Eugene (Gene) Miles Fowler (91) passed away on January 4, 2025. Born September 25, 1933 to Arthur Miles and Daisy Fowler in Chewelah, Washington. Gene graduated Sunnyside High School in 1951 and Central Washington College in 1955. He retired from Chinook Middle School after 42 years of teaching, and was honored as Industrial Arts Teacher of the Year for the State of Washington and was instrumental in implementing the first nation-wide Occupational Versatility program. Gene was a member of Southminster Presbyterian Church where he served as Elder, Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and part of a service group for the church called “Slackers”. His other passions included hunting, fishing, carving, skiing and traveling. Gene is survived by Marilyn, his wife of 71 years, three daughters: Cindy Haugland (Lyle), Vickie Gibbs (Michael), Lori Auble (Malcolm), seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Although he is dearly missed, we are comforted that he is with the Lord. A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on February 8, 2025 at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 19834 8th Ave S.
