Beers and Story - South Hadley
Alfonse "Al" G. Cardaropoli
July 10th, 1957 - January 20th, 2025
Alfonse G. Cardaropoli passed away on January 20, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on July 10, 1957, in Springfield, MA he was the son of the late Ralph Cardaropoli and Jean (Yelle) Cardaropoli. Al graduated from Cathedral High School and went on to a long career at the U.S Postal Service where he was proud of his many accomplishments and promotions. As a young adult, Al treasured the years of bowling and playing bocce alongside his father in numerous local leagues. He played the drums in several local bands from the time he was a teenager, and when he retired from playing, he enjoyed listening to and supporting local blues bands. Al was an avid foodie and gardener and after retirement took great joy in honing his cooking and baking skills or scouting local nurseries for something new to put in the garden. Always one to take the scenic route, stop to smell the roses, and explore places off the beaten path, Al found beauty and wonder in the world around him and invited those he was with to share that with him. He will be remembered for his warmth and wit, his easy-going demeanor, steadfast support and generous spirit.
He leaves his wife, Pauline, daughter Cezza, bonus daughters Lauren and Jenae, sister Linda and nephew Alex. Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. Services are private. Donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association, or the family encourages you to plant a flower in your garden for the pollinators.
