Louis M. Vargas was born in Globe, Arizona to Anastacio and Angelita Vargas. He was one of ten children. He leaves behind one sister, Rose Molina. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dolores, six sisters, Josephine-Chata, Maria Petra, Dolores-Lola, Angelita-Lily, Elena, and Mary Helen-Blanca, and two brothers, Israel-Jimmy and Anastacio-Danny.

He married his next-door neighbor, Dolores, and they were married for sixty years. Together, they built a life in Mammoth, Arizona, where they raised their family and made countless memories. Their love and dedication to each other and their home were the foundation of a lasting and cherished legacy.

Louis worked at ASARCO in Hayden, Arizona for 42 years. Most of those years were spent as a wheelman in the Anode Division. He wasn't afraid of putting in long hours, especially to help pay for the trips he took with his family.

Louis and Dolores were blessed with two children, Louie Vargas (Ricci) and Patsy Bowers (Randy). Along the way, they also welcomed several others: Juan, Victoria, Hope, and Wendy (Okie). His children will forever hold dear the memories of his sense of humor, his giving heart, and his willingness to drop everything for anyone. Louis' legacy extends beyond the love he shared with his family; he will also be remembered for the stunning rock walls he built, which stand as a testament to his craftsmanship and dedication, gracing the community for years to come. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

His sense of humor was truly one of a kind. He had a remarkable ability to go out of his way to help others, but no matter the situation, you could always count on him to be cracking jokes along the way. Louis had a deep love of baseball, golf, shooting pool, and nothing brought him more joy than watching the San Francisco Giants play.

He loved his grandkids and great grandkids so much. Ralph (Kassandra), Jesse, Andrez, Lorenzo, Marteen, Matteo, and Aria were all very special to him, along with his great-grandkids, Steven and Ava. Everyone called him Tata Louie, and he treated every child like they were his own grandkids. He leaves a piece of his heart with his many nieces and nephews. He had a funny way of telling the little ones that they looked just like him. The only one who called him a twin was Mariah. His love for his family was immense, and he will be deeply missed by all of them.

Louie had a strong faith in Jesus and was baptized at Living World Chapel in Oracle, AZ. His faith was an important part of his life, and it brought him comfort and peace. He passed away peacefully in Mammoth, Arizona. Louie will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His kindness, humor, and love will continue to live on in their hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Living World Chapel in Oracle, AZ (3941 W Hwy 77) at 11:00am on Saturday, January 25th, 2025. The burial will immediately follow at Mammoth Cemetery.
