Richard Colliton
March 24th, 1944 - January 17th, 2025
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Richard Colliton, 80, of Amsterdam, New York, son of David and Beulah Colliton.
Richard is survived by his wife, Elsie, of 54 years; his daughter, Tina; his son, David and daughter in law, Yaritza; and grandchildren, Laura, Xavi with wife Amanda, and Savannah. He is also survived by his extended family and friends.
Over the years, he worked as a bartender and many other jobs resulting in a retirement from General Electric. Post retirement, he worked a few more jobs, the last being a mower at the Antlers Country Club, which he loved. Richard also served as a baseball coach and a Boy Scout leader where he received a Scout Master of the Year award. He loved his NY Jets and Mets, going to the casino, playing golf, going fishing and camping, riding motorcycles and working on projects in his yard and garage. He also loved his cat, Willie, who was quite fond of him.
His most precious times were spent with family. He was the life of the party, loved socializing, and had a fun sense of humor. He attended a US Navy Tiger Cruise aboard his granddaughter’s (Laura) aircraft carrier.
Richard lived a rich full life and was a wonderful family man. He will be sorely missed by those he knew.
At Richard’s request, there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
The family wishes to thank Richard’s doctors and medical staff for their care and dedication throughout the years.
Richard’s care has been entrusted to Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam.
