When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure." Author - Unknown.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Virginia Annette Crapo, a cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. Born on March 17, 1938, in the serene town of Skykomish, Washington, Virginia departed this life on January 14, 2025, in Olympia, Washington, leaving behind a vastly rich legacy of love and kindness.
Virginia pursued her education at a trade school, which paved the way for her varied career roles, notably as a data entry operator, office assistant, and later as the owner and operator of a childcare service. Her career was not only a testament to her professional abilities but also to her nurturing spirit and her intrinsic desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
As a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and an active participant in various square dance clubs, Virginia's life was enriched by her faith and vibrant community engagements. Her artistic flair shone brightly through her pursuits in sewing, painting, crocheting, and dancing, activities that not only brought her joy but also connected her with like-minded individuals.
Virginia built a beautiful family with her husband, Denis Crapo, whom she married on October 7, 1962, in Spanaway, Washington. While Denis and other loved ones, including her parents Ruby and Lawrence, son Robert, sisters Alice and Phyllis, son-in-law Michael, and great-grandson Theran, predeceased her, Virginia's legacy continues through her five sons, Charles (Sandra), Martin, James, Matthew, and Zachariah, and three daughters, Julia, Michelle (Kevin), and Julia Rose. Her family was her pride and joy, extended through her brother John (Jennice), sisters Dorothy (Hisaya) and Cinda, twenty-three grandchildren, and fifty-two great-grandchildren.
A ceremony to honor Virginia's remarkable life will be held on February 1, 2025, at 10:00 am at the Lacey Stake Center, 1602 Ruddell Road SE, Lacey, WA 98503. Her family welcomes all those whose lives she touched to join them in remembering and celebrating their beloved Virginia.
Virginia leaves behind a legacy characterized by deep care and kindness, a testament to a life well-lived and well-loved. She will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
