Dolores Ann Engel, 92, Whitewater, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025 at The View in Johnson Creek, WI.
Dolores was born on June 14, 1932 in Greenville, OH to Carl and Ellen (Neal) Prasuhn. She met her future husband, Ernest “Fritz” Engel while working as a departmental secretary in the anatomy department at Michigan State University. They would have celebrated their 73rd anniversary this year. Dolores and Fritz moved to Whitewater in 1957 where she assisted Fritz with his veterinary practice. She was an award-winning photographer. Dolores enjoyed traveling and taking classes at the University, flower gardening, and was a good cook and a great mother to her three sons.
She is survived by her husband Ernest Engel, Whitewater; sons Thomas (Denise) Engel, Bovey, MN and Timothy (Penny) Engel, Glenwood City, WI, nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Eric, and brother, Lloyd Prasuhn.
Per Dolores’s wishes, there will be no services at this time.

We have proudly served the Southern Wisconsin community since 1932, when our founder Hilmar A. Nitardy opened his first funeral home in the area. We feel very fortunate to continue serving the community three generations later. In 2007, we constructed our first funeral home in Whitewater. Here, our mission is the same as it has been for over 90 years: help walk our community through times of grief and provide beautiful and meaningful services to every family that walks through our doors. We are proud that Whitewater families trust us to take care of their loved ones....
