Dana "Dee Pee Cee" Patricia Carroll
February 19th, 1959 - January 9th, 2025
DANA P. CARROLL was born on February 19, 1959 in Alexandria, VA to Theresa Berry-Carroll and [preceded in death, Eugene Tucker]. On January 9, 2025, Dana transitioned at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD.
Dana, affectionately known by her friends as, “DPC”, lived her childhood life in Alexandria, VA. She attended and graduated from T.C. Williams High School in 1977. At the age of 16, she interned at the Department of Defense (“DOD”) while attending the Cameron Station Old Military Facility/Navy Supply, formerly located in Crystal City near the Pentagon. Dana was employed with DOD for 13 1⁄2 years.
In 1988, Dana went to work for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (“HUD”), where she was employed for 37 years. While at HUD, Dana was an Administrative Management Specialist in the Office of Administration and Human Resources as well as the Executive Secretary to the Office of General Counsel where she became the “go-to” for all Congressional related correspondence.
In Dana's leisure time she enjoyed music, especially listening to "Sade", dancing, collecting horses, coloring books, fixing jewelry, beading, and crossword puzzles. She also loved volunteering at the Hats & Sunglasses store in Forestville, MD.
Dana leaves to cherish - her loving mother Theresa D. Carroll, her son Horace McRae, Jr., a god-given son Lavene Galtney; three sisters: [preceded in death: Denise E. Carroll], Cheryl Lawrence and Wanda Tucker; five brothers: [preceded in death Melvin J. Carroll], James Carroll, Jeffrey Carroll, a twin, Eugene (“Fahim”) Carroll, Thomas E.P. Carroll, and a god-given brother, Johnnie Sheppard. Dana had four loving granddaughters, Mariah, Jazmin, Sydney, and Alycia (“Ming”); two nieces, four nephews and a host of other relatives and devoted friends; notably, Ellie Roberts, Roslyn Morgan, Kathryn Davis, DeWayne and Sandra Wright, Marsha Browne, George Weidenfeller, Diane Jackson, Eusuf and BiBi Ranu.
