William James Hayes Jr
Mr. William James Hayes of Plant City, FL passed away on January 16th, 2025. He is survived by his Wife Sharon Hayes, Brothers John and Pete Hayes, his sister Mary Noonan and his children Josephine Marie Hayes, Christine Michell, and William James Hayes III and his stepchildren Robert and Steven Mollohan. He served in the US Navy starting in 1961 during the Cuban missile crisis and retired 1991 accomplishing a highly ranked and decorated 30-year military career. His rank when he retired was an E-9 Command Master Chief Petty Officer whose position is the most senior enlisted sailor in the United States Navy. His role included overseeing day to day operations, advising his respective commander or Commanding Officer, and to provide input in the formulation and execution of policies concerning morale, welfare, job satisfaction, discipline, utilization, family support, and training of enlisted sailors, as well as providing input and advice in matters affecting various missions and operations as required. The only higher position would be the chief of the Navy who’s stationed at the pentagon which was an offer William turned down during his time served.
