Anita was born on July 10, 1928 in Aschaffenburg, Germany, the daughter Otto and Maria (Schmitt) Ullerich.
She immigrated to the US from Germany in the 1950s. It wasn't long before she met her future husband when she walked into his music store. They had an immediate connection when discovering their mutual love of classical music.
Anita was multi talented and excelled in all forms of handicraft and even designed her own clothes. Her German cooking was top notch and family and friends enjoyed many a meal featuring her specialty rouladen and spaetzle. Before mobility became an issue, she was an avid hiker and never went a day without walking outdoors.
Anita is survived by children Elise Cohen, Daniel Cohen (Dawn), Nancy Ford (Jim), grandson Turk Winter (Sara) and great granddaughter August Winter.
In addition to her parents, Anita was preceded by husband William, sister Dorothea Hamaker, son Klaus Winter and great granddaughter Corrinne Winter.
The family will honor Anita's life privately.
