Arleane Faye Shepherd
August 4th, 1940 - January 15th, 2025
Arleane "Dolly" Faye Shepherd passed away with her family by her side in Chico on January 15, 2025. She was 84 years old. Arleane was born on August 4, 1940, to Walter V. Mclaren and Ruth M. Leonard in Oroville California. She was raised by her mother, Ruth and stepfather, Hugh L. Evans in Chico California. Arleane attended Notre Dame School, Chico Jr. High and graduated from Chico High school in 1959. She married her high school sweetheart, Ron Shepherd in August of 1959. They were married for over 62 years and raised two daughters, Debbi and Beckie.
Arleane worked for a few years in retail but what she enjoyed most was being a home maker and working in the home. She loved her home and was blessed to have lived there for over 64 years. She cooked up some great meals for her family. Her fried chicken was the best as were her macaroni salads. We always looked forward to her delicious Thanksgiving dinners. Every Christmas she would make hundreds of coconut-rum chocolate bon-bons. Many lucky friends and family received this yummy treat for Christmas.
Arleane enjoyed vacations to Canada, Mexico, Hawaii and even a trip across the country in a motor home. There were also many camping trips to Lake Almanor and Trinadad with her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She could always be found playing cars or barbies on the floor with the kids. Arleane was also an avid reader enjoyed going to the library to find her favorite mysteries to read.
Arleane was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Ruth Evans, her brother Hugh Evans Jr. and her Husband Ron. She is survived by her sister Rose Hyde, daughters Debbi Pisani and Beckie Boos, grandchildren, Paul and Amber Boos and Thomas Pisani and greatgrandchildren, Boston, Kimber and Sawyer.
Services will be held on January 31 at 11:00 a.m. at Glen Oaks Memorial Park in Chico. Brusie Funeral Home is handling the arrangements,
