It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sally W. Bowler on January 20, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on November 24, 1936, in Montreal, Canada, to Inge and Peter Weston-Webb, Sally was the eldest of their four children. Her childhood was shaped by a life of adventure. Her father’s work enabled Sally to spend her early years not only in Canada but also in Peru and other fascinating locations.

After completing her formal education and to purse her passion for travel she joined Pan American Airlines based in New York City. Over the next five years, she criss crossed continents, visiting countless exciting destinations. Her expertise and charisma also earned her a spot in Pan American's promotional and training videos throughout her career.

During her travels, she met W. Scane Bowler, whom she was married to for 38 years. During their time together they called Pepper Pike, OH, Pinellas County, Fl and Hilton Head, SC their home. While Scane was traveling for business, she took care of everything on the home front. She loved gardening and was a fantastic cook especially preparing her famous and fondly named “Blue Plate Special” meal every holiday. When business called, she was the ultimate host, entertaining the company’s sales force at home or various convention locations. She loved to ski, play tennis and golf with Scane or the Ladies League. She was proud of her first Hole-in-One 4/10/08 at Bear Creek Golf Club’s 8th Hole.

The thousands of hours she spent volunteering brought her enormous joy over the years. While volunteering at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, FL she earned volunteer pins for over 10,000 hours of dedicated service to the hospital. Of the numerous jobs at the hospital, one of her most cherished was overseeing the candy stripers program, a role that eventually welcomed her granddaughter Corey and her friends into the fold. She also dedicated several summers at Upper Pinellas Association for Retarded Citizens (UPARC) in Clearwater, FL, volunteering for their summer camp. This was a volunteer job that she shared with her youngest granddaughter Kristen. In 1989, she was elected to serve a term as a Commissioner for the Town of Belleair Shores.

Since Scane’s passing in 2004 she continued to travel to visit friends and family. She loved her annual ski trip with her sister Missy and family. She continued skiing into her seventies, but she always found time to continue volunteering at TidePointe, Broad Creek Care Center, bringing smiles to the residents. She was honored to receive the Volunteer of The Year Award from the South Carolina Activity Professionals Association February 22, 2007. She was also a Eucharistic Minister for St. Francis By the Sea Catholic Church.

She is survived by her stepdaughter, Lynn Farrell (Mike); granddaughters Corey Farrell (Michael), Kristen Horn (Chad); grandson Steve Egan (Jennifer); great-grandchildren: Kyla Egan and Jeremiah Metz. Sister Susan “Missy” Rosenshine (Allen); nieces, Cathy Peterson, Stacy Karp, Courtney Karp, Lizzy Rosenshine, Laura Rosenshine, Nancy Ramey, Susan Carey, Judy Vesey and Amy Mullaney; nephews, Doug Weston-Webb, Kevin Weston -Webb, Peter Brandon Weston-Webb, Andrew Rosenshine and John Rosenshine along with fourteen grand nieces and nephews.

Sally was preceded in death by her husband W. Scane Bowler; parents Peter and Inge Weston-Webb; sister Virginia Karp; brother Peter Weston-Webb, and stepson W. Scott Bowler.

The family would like to thank Above & Beyond Services and The Cypress Home Health Care staff that helped her on this journey for the last two years. With your help she was able to fulfill her wish to remain at home with her faithful dog Triscuit.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or Memory Matters, 117 William Hilton Pkwy, Hilton Head Island, SC  29926

A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Thursday, February 6 at 10:00 am at St Francis by the Sea Catholic Church. A reception will take place immediately after at The Cypress of Hilton Head, 20 Ladyslipper Lane, Hilton Head, SC.
