Loving Mother and Sister
Elizabeth “Liz” “Betty” Sue Peterson, age 82, from Molalla, OR. Elizabeth passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday January 13, 2025 surrounded by family. Elizabeth Sue Peterson was born on May 3, 1942 in Fond Du Lac, WI to Royal A. Puddy and Marie A. (Kane) Puddy. Liz was raised in Lakewood, CA. She graduated from Lakewood High School in1961.
Liz worked primarily in the Manufacturing industries until her retirement. She eventually moved from Lakewood, CA, to Sheboygan, WI -where she married Glen Strahl. They eventually moved to Norwalk, CA. She and Glen loved and raised their children. Liz and Glen divorced in 1986. She eventually found love again and was married to Raymond “Ray” Peterson in 1988. Eventually, Liz and Ray retired, and they moved to Molalla, Oregon. Where they wrote the chapters of their lives into their love story for over 37 years.
Liz’s life experiences were very interesting. She was a TRP Transportation Reaching People volunteer driver for the Senior Community Center taking people to their appointments. Liz’s hobbies included: Loving and spoiling their puppy Happy. Building countless 3-Dimensional miniature doll house models and completing Jigsaw puzzles with Ray. Playing Bingo with Ray. Doing activities with her friends at the Community center. Travelling with Ray on several Cruises to various destinations.
She is survived by: Sisters: Mary Atkinson and Nancy Pitt. Brother: Jim Puddy. Ray and Liz’s children: Gregory Strahl, Terry Strahl, Mary Merritt, Carla Taylor, Todd Strahl, Monte Peterson, John Davis, Rachel Tate. She is further survived by many Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.
She is preceded in death by: Raymond D Peterson (Husband 11/26/2024), Royal Puddy (Father), Marie Puddy (Mother), Brothers: Richard “Dick” Puddy, Danny Puddy, Michael Puddy and David Puddy. Sisters: Elaine and Peggy. Dallas Peterson (Son)
Liz has requested that there not be a formal Memorial Service. She has elected to be cremated. We will have a combined “Celebration Of Life” event for both Liz and Ray. We will provide ample notice of the event details once they are known.
