Robert Eugene Dennis passed away at home on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at the age of 93 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Randleman, NC on May 1, 1931, to Hayes and Grace Dennis, the youngest of five, and the only son. He was a United States Navy Veteran and served during the Korean Conflict aboard the USS Randolph aircraft carrier. He was married to the love of his life, Barbara Jean Denson Dennis, for 70 years. He was employed by Cone Mills Corporation for 49 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and when he was able, he always enjoyed working in his workshop.

He was a dedicated and hardworking husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and was greatly loved, respected and admired by his entire family.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Teresa James and partner, Ken Mabe; son, Chris Dennis and wife, Amanda; grandchildren, Aaron James and wife, Sarah, Alisa James O’Connell and husband, Cameron, Brandon Dennis and wife, Zoe, and Brett Dennis; great grandchildren, Anderson James, Sullivan “Sully” James, and Grayson O’Connell; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Elsie Hunter, Viola Cline, Dot Helms, and Betty Amos, and a great granddaughter, Gracie Dennis.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 1:00PM Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Lambeth Chapel with Chaplain Katie Lovelace officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park, Greensboro, NC. The family will greet friends from 12:00PM to 1:00PM Thursday prior to the service in the chapel.
