Glenda Lee Neville went home to be with her Lord Jesus on January 26, 2025, in Largo, FL, at the age of 88. Born on March 28, 1936, in Rossville, GA. Glenda was a woman whose life was vibrant and nurturing. She was a born-again Christian and a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Largo, FL.
Glenda's journey began as the daughter of Elbert and Edna Yarbrough. Siblings are Judy Williams and Glen "Buddy" Yarbrough, who predeceased her, and her sister Wilma VanWagoner, who resides in Dunnellon, FL. Glenda's heart found its match in Thomas Neville, her devoted husband of 61 years, who had been her partner in every adventure until her passing.
Though Glenda's formal education was cut short as she devoted herself to her family, her wisdom and knowledge were evident in every aspect of her life. She was a self-made woman whose work ethic and talents led her to a remarkable 26-year career at Honeywell as a Space Shuttle technician. Her dedication went beyond her professional life as she volunteered alongside her daughter Karen for the Largo Police Department and spent many years at Bardmoor Country Club in Largo.
Glenda leaves behind the love of her life for 61 years, Thomas, who was her partner in life's adventures. She will be greatly missed by her children, Jimmy Harris and his fiancée, Tracy; Karen Goodin; and Brenda Harris. She was the proud grandmother to Daniel Goodin Jr., Justin Harris, Ryan Harris, and Jordan Goodin, and great-grandmother to Alexandria, Austin, Layla, and Savannah Goodin, and Ruby, Miles, and Jett Harris. Each was touched by her loving, faith-filled, and creative spirit. She will also be missed by her sister, Wilma VanWagoner, of Dunnellon, FL.
An accomplished artist, Glenda expressed her creativity through oil paintings and ceramics, leaving behind a treasure trove of beauty for her family to cherish. Her cooking was the highlight of family gatherings, where her love was served in every dish at cookouts and reunions. As the family's matriarch, she was the glue that held everyone together and the rock they could always lean on.
Glenda had a zest for life, evident in her younger days riding dirt bikes and in her later years traveling to exotic places with Thomas. Her beloved dog, Mojo, held a special place in her heart. She was a strong, independent woman who raised three children alone with grace and resilience before marrying Thomas.
