Barbra Louise Braun
November 4th, 1976 - January 24th, 2025
Barbra Louise Braun passed away Friday, January 24, 2025 of complications following heart surgery in early December. Barbra was born November 4, 1976, in Buffalo, New York, the eldest daughter of Robert Braun and Beverly Braun, also of Buffalo, New York. In 1999, Barbra, along with her parents and sister moved to Lutz, Florida, where she had resided for the last 25 years.
Barbra lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed watching professional sports and could give you the scores and statistics of the ones she enjoyed most, such as March Madness basketball, baseball, football and ice hockey. Barbra was a steadfast fan of her high school hockey team, The Lancaster Redskins, as well as the Rays, the Bucs, the Lightning and was always hopeful for her beloved Buffalo Bills.
Barbra worked at the Publix, Collier Parkway location in Lutz for over 22 years.
Her impact extended beyond work, as she was deeply involved in her community, giving back in meaningful ways such as volunteering at Feeding Tampa Bay and the ASPCA animal shelter. Whether through her volunteering, or simply lending a listening ear, she was a beacon of support and generosity in her local area.
Barbra also participated in Tennis for Fun and Equestrian Skills through the Special Olympics. Her other activities included bowling, pottery, and jigsaw puzzles, when she didn’t have her nose buried in a Sudoku book. Barbra’s outgoing personality was a ray of sunshine that brightened our lives.
Barbra is survived by her father, Robert Braun, stepmother, Barbara Mischelle Braun, brother Robert Braun, Jr., and sister, Brittany Braun; stepsisters, Maggie Bogatescu, and Katherine Jara; stepbrothers, Matthew Jara and Michael Jara; grandmother, Rose Braun; uncles, Thomas Braun, James Braun, Dr. Edward Braun, and Charles Bland; aunts, Patrica Anthon, Linda Winkel, and Patrica Brawn and numerous cousins.
