Judith Mae Sobeski, 78, of Milliken, formerly of Johnstown, passed away at her home on January 25, 2025, surrounded by her family.  She was born July 27, 1946 in Canon City, Colorado to Thaine and Lucille (Hand) Johnson.

 

Judy’s family moved throughout Colorado and settled in Erie where she graduated from Erie High School. 

 

On February 13, 1971, she married Michael Bernard Sobeski and he preceded her in death on June 24, 2024. 

 

Judy worked as a school bus driver for Weld RE-5J and later became the transportation supervisor, also known as the “bus boss” and “bus queen”. 

 

Judy enjoyed crocheting, taking road trips with Mike, visiting with others and catching up as well as her Coca Cola and Christmas village collections.  She was a member of the Johnstown-Milliken American Legion Auxiliary. 

 

Survivors include her children; Jeff, Missy and Joe Sobeski, her sister, Jackie Schneiderwent, brothers-in-law, Jon (Anne) Sobeski and Rex Hunt, her adopted granddaughter Makayla Stroh, nieces, nephews and her dog, Bommer. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Jeannie White and Jerry Hunt, her brother John Johnson, sister-in-law, Julianne Ferjanec, her niece, Christy Ferjanec and brother-in-law, Pat Sobeski. 

 

The family will host a private graveside service at the Johnstown Cemetery on Saturday, February 1, 2025.  Everyone is cordially invited to Dreams and Dragonflies Event Center in Johnstown from 12-2 p.m. for a luncheon and Life Celebration.   Condolences may be shared at AdamsonCares.com.
