Gerald "Jerry" J. Millen, 84, passed away January 26, 2025. He was born on August 2, 1940, in Holyoke, MA to the late John and Lucy (Rondeau) Millen.

Jerry graduated from Holyoke High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army from 1957-1962. Following his military service, Jerry embarked on a remarkable 37-year career as a Motor Coach Operator for Peter Pan Bus Lines. His exemplary dedication to safety was recognized with the prestigious 3 Million Miles Accident-Free award, a testament to his skill and vigilance. Following his retirement in 2005, he took on a role as a medical courier for Valley Medical.

Besides his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Virginia; second wife, Sandy; and his sister, Claire Soucy. He leaves behind his children, Keith (Clem) Millen of Benson, NC, Cheryl (Tom) Connery of Suffield, CT, and Susan (Sherri) Dick of Conway, SC; and grandchildren, Alyssa and Tyler Hibbard, and Brianna Andrews. He also leaves his niece, Louise Arthur, and nephew, Michael Soucy, and their families.

The family would like to thank Latanya Bennefield, LPN, and the entire staff at The Wellington for the compassionate care that was provided to Jerry in his last few years. They also wish to thank the staff of Fallon Health, especially Christine Briggs, RN, for being a source of comfort and going above and beyond in caring for Jerry.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 1-3 pm at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to join the funeral procession on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 11 am to St. Francis of Assisi Church, where Jerry’s life will be celebrated with a Funeral Mass at 12pm. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Belchertown Senior Center by way of check made payable to the Town of Belchertown, 60 State Street, Belchertown, MA 01007.
