“You know, I’ve only been gone a few days, and already I miss you all. I want to leave you with a poem and a final word:
Here’s a sigh to those who love me,
And a smile to those who hate,
And, whatever sky’s above me,
Here’s a heart for every fate.
Final word: Here’s looking at you, kid.”
Guy Leighton Snow of Charlotte, NC died peacefully on January 7, 2025 at Mercy Hospital in Charlotte, NC. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, and his children of a prior marriage Justin Snow, Misty Ingram, and Gina Snow. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren.
Guy was born in Fayetteville, NC to his late father, Guy Lafayette Snow, and his late mother, Virginia Dare McNeil. Subsequently raised in Elkin, NC, Guy graduated from Elkin High School in 1958. An interest in science motivated him to earn a degree in Chemistry at University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 1962. This education enabled him to serve in the United States Army Chemical Corps, advancing to the rank of First Lieutenant before being Honorably Discharged in 1969. He enjoyed working for the remainder of his private sector career in the manufacture and application of battery technology and chemical products for consumer use. Guy attended Amity Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC for almost 40 years and served the congregation in many capacities including as an Elder teaching Sunday school classes.
