Thelma Jean Fitch
May 28th, 1934 - January 26th, 2025
Thelma Jean Fitch, 90, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025, in Meridian, ID, born in Ontario, Oregon, on May 28, 1934, to Earl S. Secoy and Ruby T. (Poynor) Secoy, Thelma was the oldest of two children. She was raised in Fruitland, Idaho, with sister Janice and graduated from Fruitland High School in 1952.
After high school, Thelma attended and graduated from Nampa Business School in 1953. She married her high school sweetheart, best friend, and the love of her life, Clayton Myrial Fitch, on October 8, 1954.
Over the years, Thelma held various positions, including roles at Chaney Wholesale Company (Fruitland, ID), Burns & Bay Produce Company (Nampa, ID), Ore-Ida Frozen Foods, and Idaho First National Bank. She also served as Deputy Sheriff at the Payette County Sheriff’s Office.
In 1958, Thelma and Clayton welcomed their first child, Darren Myrial, followed by Deborah Jean in 1960 and Dawn Marie in 1964. During this time, Thelma also had a Cake Decorating Company showcasing her creativity and entrepreneurial spirit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Ruby Secoy; sister, Janice Marie Allen; her son, Darren Myrial Fitch; granddaughter, Timborah Spofford; and her husband, Clayton Myrial Fitch.
Thelma is survived by her daughters, Deborah (Tim) Spofford and Dawn (Dennis) Weiler; grandchildren Tucker (Hattie) Spofford, Abigale (Julia) Spofford, Cody (Amanda) Fitch, and Jordan Fitch; and great-grandchildren Adrian Fitch, Izzy Fitch, and Otto Spofford.
Thelma was a warm, kind, and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Graveside services will be held on Saturday February 1, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Park View Cemetery in New Plymouth, Idaho
