Nathan Scott “Tito” Martinez, 59, entered eternal rest on January 1st, 2025 in Tucson, Arizona. Nathan was born on December 3rd, 1965 in Lordsburg, NM to Ernesto “Joe” and Maria C. Martinez. Those who had the privilege of knowing Nathan knew he was a selfless man. He grew up in Lordsburg and graduated from Lordsburg High School in 1985. He then went on to serve in the Army National Guard and work as an electrician.

Nathan was the most welcoming person, when he would enter a room, his presence was known and he was sure to greet you. A selfless son, father, brother, uncle, and friend who enjoyed spending time with his loved ones. He truly cared when you would speak with him. He was a jokester and would have everyone laughing. Jacob would take his dad, “Tito,” to the store nearby their house to get his father a fountain drink and some scratch tickets. Tito also spent time with some of his closest friends, a few to name: Roy & Regina A., Fernie, and kept in touch with others. Tito enjoyed traveling with his son, his sister, parents, niece, and great niece whether it was for a birthday, game, to go shopping, a First Holy Communion, quinceanera, or any other special occasions - sometimes to get chili in Hatch or just to visit with family. He was an amazing great uncle to his sister, Cindy's, grandchildren and his great nieces and nephews all adored him and loved their uncle Tito very much. Sometimes he'd spoil them all with candy, buying them their Halloween costume, Christmas gifts, birthday gifts, or just because he wanted to.

Nathan “Tito” was a kind, humble, caring, joking, genuine, and loving soul and was a strong man. He was a prayer warrior and devout Catholic. Your memories will live on through your loved ones and good friends forever. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his son, family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him for the great person he was and for the profound impact he had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. You will be greatly missed and forever loved. May you rest peacefully.

Nathan is survived by his only son: Jacob N. (Alyssa) Martinez and Floki, his fur grandbaby who always greeted him at the door, mother: Maria C. Martinez, sister: Cynthia D. Martinez (of Lordsburg, NM), brothers: Tommy (Anita) Martinez (of El Paso, Texas), Daniel A. (Lori) Martinez, and Dennis B. Martinez (of Tucson, AZ), Tio Manuel A. (Tia Gloria) Martinez (of Gilbert, AZ), and Uncle Gilbert (Aunt Zelema) Frausto (of El Paso, Tx), and numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces.

Nathan was preceded in death by his father: Joe E. Martinez, maternal grandparents: Jose and Paula Frausto, paternal grandparents: Jose Abran and Manuela Martinez, Tio Abran Martinez, Tio Ray Martinez, Tia Adelia Martinez Verdugo, Aunt Herminia Frausto, Aunt Virgina and Uncle Albert Lopez, Aunt Carolina and Uncle Rey Roybal, Uncle Nieves and Aunt Carmen Frausto, and cousin Ronnie Roybal. Honorary pallbearers are Nathan's son, Jacob, and family.

On February 15th, 2025, in Lordsburg, NM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church (416 E. 2nd St), The Holy Rosary will be at 10:00am (recited by Maria Elena). Mass to follow at 11:00am. Burial will be private at a later date.
