Robert Baron Winn, 88, went home to be with the Lord on January 24, 2025. He was born on October 5, 1936, in Los Angeles, California, to Albert Winn and Caroline (Baron) Winn.

Bob honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force Reserve/ National Guard and the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of major. After his military service, he pursued higher education, earning both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Computer Science from East Texas State University. Bob then spent 20 years working for Texas Instruments and an additional two years with Twin Star.

A passionate ham radio operator, Bob held the call sign W5KNE and was active in the ham radio community, even writing newsletters for fellow enthusiasts. He also enjoyed playing board and card games and had a love for travel, particularly with his beloved wife, Karen. Together, they embarked on adventures including a 30-day cruise from Santa Barbara to New Zealand and a Rhine River cruise for their 20th wedding anniversary.

Bob and Karen were active members of their churches, First Christian Church in Plano, Texas, and Christ Presbyterian Church in Goodyear, after relocating to Arizona.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Caroline Winn. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Karen; his children, Jon Cole Winn, Baron Winn (Wendy), Summer Winn (Brandon Hay);  grandchildren, Braden, Gavin, Chloe, Parker, Greyson, and Mariah; step-son, David Trimble (Rebecca); step-granddaughters, Stephanie Anticona and Jasmine Schmidt (Aaron); and step-great-grandchildren, Madison, Liam, Anika, and Talon.

Bob was a kind, loving, and generous man, deeply cherished by his family and friends and will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 11:00am at Christ Presbyterian Church, 925 N Sarival Ave, Goodyear, AZ 85338.
