Nancy Waterman Slanovec

Nancy Waterman Slanovec, age 69, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away on December 24, 2024, at St. Anthony's Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Born and raised in St. Petersburg, Nancy graduated from Northeast High School. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Emma Jane Waterman. She is survived by her devoted husband, John Slanovec; her beloved sister, Susan Wood, and brother, Bert Waterman II. She also leaves behind her brothers-in-law, Charles and Stephen Slanovec; her stepsons, Michael and Gregg Slanovec; her cherished grandchildren, Jaden, Dakota, Isabel, and Chloe; her niece, Janessa Wood; her nephews, Bert III and Thomas Waterman, and Jesse Wood IV; her grandniece Avery and grandnephew Silas.

Nancy attended Lorraine's Beauty School in her early twenties, becoming a hairstylist and hair color expert for 49 years. She built her own business, Highlight Hair Design, which she successfully operated for 25 years. She was admired for her talent, independence, resourcefulness, and infectious sense of humor. Nancy brought joy to her family, friends, and clients. She loved sports, especially football and was a dedicated Buccaneers fan.Nancy's radiant smile and vibrant personality will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on March 1, 2025, from 2 to 4 pm at the Anderson McQueen Funeral Home Chapel located at 2201 Dr. MLK Jr. St N, St. Petersburg, FL 33704. She will be laid to rest privately at Sunnyside Cemetery.
