"Together Again"

Matilda Rose “Tillie” McGinnis, age 87, of Summerfield, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025, in Ocala, Florida.

 

Tillie was born on July 16, 1937, in Shelburn, Indiana, to Ruth and Roy Pittman. She graduated from Midwestern Baptist Bible College in 1960 and married the love of her life, Lee Eldon McGinnis, on December 22, 1956, in Imlay City, Michigan. Together, they devoted their lives to ministry, with Tillie serving faithfully as a pastor’s wife, school principal, and teacher for 43 years.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee, her parents, and three brothers. She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Jane, her three sons and their wives, as well as her seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

 

A viewing will be held at Memorial Baptist Church in Ocala, Florida, on February 1, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM, officiated by Pastor Mike West. Interment will follow at Belleview Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services in Belleview, Florida.

 

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Grace Davis Hall House in Ocala for their compassionate care.
