Loving Husband, Father, Son and Uncle.
John Anderson Day, 52, husband of Brigid Sword Day, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025. He was born in Lexington, KY on Christmas day in 1972 to Margaret Mason, and the late John W. Day. John was a member of Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, he worked as a project manager for LFUCG environmental services . John was a 1991 graduate of Bourbon county high school and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp (Tango 5/11 1993-1997).
John enjoyed hunting, especially for deer, and had a small goal to one day hunt moose and elk. He loved watching his daughters play basketball, even though he hated the sport itself, and was the go-to uncle for concession stand or treat/ hot dog money.
Besides his wife, Brigid, and his mother, Margaret, those left to cherish his memory includes his daughters, Mackenzie Clare Day, Megan Leann Day, Mary Katherine (Katie) Day; son, Zachary Ryan Day; sisters, Monique (Marc) Wanner, Michelle (Scott) Wiesman, Danielle Durman; brother, David (Becky) Durman; step-mother, Kathy Day; mother and father in law, Adrienne and Harvey Sword; brother in laws, Patrick (April) Sword, Brendan (Meghann) Sword; nieces and nephews, Josh & Caleb Wanner, Conner & Colby Wiesman, Daisy & Marigold & Juniper Durman, Brayden Durman, Rowan & Riley Hood, Riley & Braxton Sword, Connor, and Callen Sword; and his beloved trusted sidekick, his dog, lucky.
In addition to his father, John is preceded in death by his brother, Bryan (Brandy) Durman.
A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at 12pm at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Lexington KY, with visitation starting at 10am until the time of the mass. A private inurnment will take place at Pax Christi.
