Betty Gallegos
April 24th, 1947 - January 25th, 2025
Betty Jean Gallegos was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world peacefully on January 25th, 2025.
Her legacy is one of unyielding kindness and generosity. She never faltered in her commitment to her family, and her biggest accomplishment was raising her two sons.
Betty loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family. She had a passion for golf, and one day achieved every golfer's dream of hitting a hole-in-one. She greatly enjoyed music and would often dance the night away with her husband Desie and their friends. Betty had a talent for teaching children. She spent 29 years of her life as a teaching assistant with the Bernalillo Public Schools and was adored by her students.
Betty Jean will be lovingly remembered by her beloved children Steven Gallegos, and Jeremy Gallegos, her granddaughter Faith Gallegos, her brothers Joe Paiz, Ralph Paiz, and Peter Torrez, her sisters Theresa De Mondragon, and Freida Castillo, and her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters-in law: Judy Paiz, Priscilla Paiz, Shirley Paiz, Rudy Castillo, Laura Gallegos, Mary Monet, Rubel Gallegos, Dorothy Gallegos, and Kenneth De Mondragon,
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Desie Gallegos, her brother Carlos Paiz, her mother Blanche Torrez, stepfather Jose Antonio Torrez, her daughter-in-law Grace Gallegos, brothers-in-law Tony Gallegos, Ray Gallegos, and sister-in-law Angie Gallegos.
The Gallegos family would like to thank everybody for the countless phone calls, text messages and emails which truly demonstrate how much Betty was loved.
Betty's loss is deeply felt by her family and all those who knew and loved her. Her memory will continue to live on and inspire strength, kindness, and generosity in those whose lives she touched.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 15th, 2025, at the Santa Barbara Catholic church in Sile, NM. The family invites all who wish to honor Betty to join us for the rosary at 10 a.m. and a mass at 11 a.m. A burial will follow at the Sile Cemetery.
