Jean Reese Bennett passed away peacefully Saturday, February 1, 2025, surrounded by her family.  A graveside service will be held Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 2 PM at Parkway Memorial Gardens.

Jean was born in the small town of Soperton, Georgia, on May 18, 1939 to her loving parents, Evie Lee Spivey and Judge Reese. She attended school there until she moved to Warner Robins, Georgia, where she graduated High School, pursued an Associate's Degree, and took a job at Robins Air Force Base. She worked there for forty-one years in Procurement before retiring to spend more time with family. She was married to Ramey Cason Bennett, who was born in Mississippi, also worked at RAFB, and pre-deceased her.

She was active in the community and had lifelong friendships with her sisters in Beta Sigma Phi. Somewhere along the line, she was bitten by the travel bug and loved to travel. She and Ramey started small, taking David and Lisa on weekend beach trips, then across the US on a big summer roadtrip out West. When David and Lisa were older they started taking bigger trips with the kids to Europe to explore abroad, and later in life she became an avid cruise ship traveler and often took her friends and family with her. She left Warner Robins in 2009 to be closer to family in Athens, Georgia, but still kept in touch with her friends.

Jean is survived by: Her brother, Glenn Hearn, his wife Patti Hearn, sons: Tyler and Maxwell Hearn. Her son, David Bennett, his wife Sheryl Bennett, Daughters Jennifer Kretchmar, and Kelly Bennett and a son Austin Bennett.  Also, her daughter Lisa Bennett and grand-daughter Kristen Budsberg. And the love of her life: a Shih Tzu named Chloe' who has been by her side for the last eight years keeping her entertained.
