Perry Albert Powell
July 7th, 1926 - January 29th, 2025
Born July 7th, 1926, in Collins Mississippi
While he was in no hurry, he left this world unexpectedly for the next on January 29th, 2025. He was 98 years old at the moment of his untimely demise.
He is preceded in death by his parents Herman Powell and Juanita Powell Bryant. Siblings; Leroy Powell, Herman Powell, Jr, Helen Brown and Louise McGee. His loving wife, Ida Mae Powell, daughter Jane Gray and son William Carver Powell
He is survived by his siblings, sister Katherine Bryant, and brother Terry Bryant
His children, Perry A Powell, Jr., (Kathy), Juanita Perteet (Ricky), Sarah Balenger (Russel) and Debra Powell-Moore.
His Grandchildren, Tiyanna Gray, Toiya Powell, Sonya Powell, Dominick Suttles, Rasah Singleton, Rekeia Perteet, Olivier Joe Rowe and Perry Joe Rowe.
Great Grandchildren, Bookie, Jakiya, Makayla, Jordan, Russel Joseph, Mark William, Theodore Walter and Cora Mae……. along with nieces, nephews and cousins too numerous to mention. Our gratitude to his many neighbors who looked after him. We should all be lucky to have them.
He retired from the US Postal Service after 31 years as a Manager in the Mail handler’s division on November 1st, 1981.
He did not desire a memorial service. Interment will be at Fort Snelling Veterans Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN. on Thursday, February 6th at 1:30pm with a processional and a brief memorial at his resting place alongside his beloved wife and our mother Ida Mae.

Spielman Mortuary has been helping Saint Paul families since 1950 when Kenneth and Helen Spielman purchased the National Funeral Home. For over 30 years, the couple lived above the funeral home and took just one vacation. They sold the home in 1984 to the Willwerscheid family. We still operate Spielman Mortuary with the same traditions of pride, sensitivity, value, and attention to detail that the Spielmans followed for over three decades....
