In every act of kindness, in every shared laugh, and in every cherished memory, we will carry your loving spirit with us.

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Edward Joseph Ostasiewski Sr at his home in Tucson, AZ on January 30, 2025 at the age of 73.

Ed was born March 8, 1951 in Meriden, CT, the son of Leonard and Chesterine [Wolkowicz] Ostasiewski.

Ed graduated from H.C. Wilcox Technical High School in 1970, and then enlisted in the United States Air Force.

During his time with the United States Air Force, Ed travelled the world as a maintenance analysis specialist. He was stationed at many bases including Thailand during the Vietnam War, RAF Lakenheath (UK), and several military bases in the United States. After 20 years of service, Ed retired as a Master Sergeant at Davis Monthan Air Force Base. After his time in the military, he continued civil service work, serving the country for another 19 years as an F-4 Lead Planner for the 576th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Squadron before finally retiring in 2012.

Some of Ed’s favorite pastimes were grilling and smoking meats, restoring his pick up truck, shooting pool, and riding steam trains. But overall, Ed’s passion was his family. Spending time with his family brought him immense joy, and his two grandchildren were the sparkle in his eyes.

Remaining to cherish Ed’s memory are wife of 14 years, Shirley (nee Heskett, formerly Olson); children, Laura (Matt) Braverman, Edward Jr; stepchildren, Shawn (Aubrey) Olson; grandchildren, Julia and Eddie; brothers, Francis (Jackie), Kenneth (Laurie), Leonard Jr (Lorraine); sisters, Rita (Bruce) Gilbert, Rosemary (Douglas) Johns; and many beloved nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends.

Preceding Edward in death are parents Leonard and Chesterine Ostasiewski.

Visitation and Rosary services will be held at Bring's Funeral Home on Monday, March 3rd from 2-4pm. Interment will be held at Arizona Veterans' Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday, March 4th at 12pm.
