John Paul Cook, 82, sadly passed away on February 1, 2025 after a period of declining health. Whether it was his time in the US Navy serving his country or working hard for his family, John was resilient and always full of so much love. He leaves behind a legacy of so much kindness and unwavering strength.
Preceded in death by his wife Connie Rehak-Cook; siblings; Phillip, Patricia, and Thomas; and grandson, Joey. He leaves behind his three children, Jason Rehak-Cook and his wife Elizabeth of Fort Myers, FL, Cortney Scott and her husband Brian of Townsend, MA, and Danielle Cunningham of Lowell, MA. He is survived by his sister, Catherine Campbell of Billerica, MA. He was also a proud papa to grandchildren Blake, Riley, Trevor, and Taylor. He leaves behind his beloved dog, Ruby.
John began his journey in Somerville, MA as the baby of five children to Katherine Sullivan and Phillip Cook. He graduated from Don Bosco Tech High School in 1961, and joined the US Navy with best friend Dennis Stanion as SeaBees in 1962. He was proud to serve the country he loved. Soon after exploring the world, he came back to New England to settle down to focus on his family, work, and the future. John was a janitor at Mascenic High School in New Ipswich, NH and saw many generations of his community grow into adulthood.
John was a fixture at the local market where everyone knew him by name and his smile. He loved working on various projects, motorcycles, and dreamed one day of owning a Corvette. His dreamer mentality was a favorite attribute to all who knew him. He leaves behind an impressive work ethic and his appreciation of the little things will forever stay with his children.
As per John's request, no funeral or memorial services will be held.
