It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lyn Carol White on November 4th, 2024. She left this world peacefully in her home in Colorado Springs at the age of 76.

Lyn was born to George and Elizabeth Brittingham in Baltimore, Maryland and was one of 5 daughters. After graduating from Western High School in Baltimore, she completed a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Maryland.

Lyn had a love for reading, quilting, and of course the beach. She would say her happy place was the ocean and that it always brought her peace and a sense of rejuvenation. Lyn found joy in recounting stories from her youth of family summer beach vacations, and even shared stories all the way up to visiting her sisters at the beach as an adult. The beach always held a special place in her heart. To this day, the same joy and love for the beach is shared by her daughters and grandchildren.

Lyn’s greatest love was for her family. She devoted her life to her husband and children and loved them beyond measure, but her love didn’t end there. That same love and devotion extended to her grandchildren, great grandchildren, parents and sisters. We will miss hearing her voice of care, reminding us to buckle our seatbelts, watch out for deer, and the continual update of the weather so we were prepared no matter where we were heading. You could always count on Lyn to have the latest updates on weather and road conditions. These are just a few of the ways Lyn showed her care and love for her family. Lyn’s departure leaves an unfillable void, but we find comfort in the memories and everlasting love she shared with us all.

She is survived by her daughters Stephanie Hooper (Jason Glab), Nicki Gilkes (Chris Gilkes), Grandchildren Haley L. Wendling (Cody Wendling), Ethan Gilkes, Logan Gilkes, great grandchild Berklee Wendling, sisters Judy Ward (Bill Ward), Jan Clemmens (Ken Clemmens), and Marcie Ermer (Phil Ermer).

Preceded in death by her parents George and Elizabeth Brittingham, husband Ron White, sister Beth Moran, son-in-law Jason Hooper, and the recent passing of her grandson Ryan Hooper.

A celebration of life will take place in Spring of 2025 in Colorado Springs to honor the memory of Lyn White.
