It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Harold “Dean” Broome, 90, of Ruskin, FL who peacefully passed away on January 30th, 2025 at home surrounded by loved ones.  Dean was born and raised in North Carolina.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Della Broome; his wife Trudy; children Janis Creason and Michael Broome; granddaughter Amy Creason; siblings Ray Broome (Rita), Carl Broome (Vivian), Merle Featherstone (Marvin) and Rachel Martin (Ray). He was survived by children Tammy Wright (Ron), Sheila Burdick (Marco Duran) and Trena Mewborn; Grandchildren Jon, Michael, Amanda, Brian, Tanner and Kacey; great grandchildren Tyler and Emma; great-great grandchildren Landon and Grace. 

 

Dean was an honorable man who loved the Lord, loved his family with all his heart, and loved our country. He would not hesitate to fight to defend either.  He was a fair, generous and caring man.  He loved to share his knowledge with young people, especially about hunting and fishing, both of which he spent much of his time doing.  His willingness to give valuable advice and guidance will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

 

Dean’s Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 with Visitation at 10:30am and Funeral Service at 11am, at Sun City Center Funeral Home. Graveside Service will follow at Ruskin Memorial Park.
