Cynthia Bonney Nash Mannering was born May 1,1951 in Seattle to Douglas and Bonnie Nash. They lived in Buckley, WA and the family grew with sister Barbara and brother Douglas. At age 12 Cindy’s father was killed in a tragic accident. Her mother remarried and Cindy gained sisters Gail and Beth, and later, an adopted brother Brian.
Cindy attended school in Buckley and earned a full scholarship to Linfield College where she majored in English and French. She spent her junior year in France and returned to graduate Cum Laude.
She taught English, French and Spanish in Oregon schools and after moving to Boise she taught French as an Adjunct Professor at Boise State University, College of Idaho, and CWI.
She also began some freelance work for Glencoe McGraw Hill text book company doing presentations around the country to teachers and school boards for sales, and teaching teachers how to use the books. She later became a full time employee and rose to become the National Marketing Manager for foreign language textbooks.
A diagnosis of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma changed her life. She survived a difficult bone marrow transplant at Stanford University Hospital. She lived 25 more rich and full years until various organ diseases combined to take her life on January 30, 2025. She is survived by her brothers and sisters and her husband Lowell.
