Joel E. Welford, a beloved son, brother, and stepfather, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025, in Butler, Georgia, at the age of 73. Born on July 27, 1951, in Mobile, Alabama, Joel was a man known for his kind heart and passionate interests that brought warmth and joy to those around him.

Throughout his life, Joel was a devoted fan of Alabama football, often heard cheering with enthusiasm, "Roll Tide!" His appreciation for life's simple pleasures found expression in his fondness for attending flea markets, where treasures awaited discovery each weekend. He had an undeniable affection for puppies, a passion that reflected his gentle and caring nature. Joel was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Thelma Welford, his beloved wife, Sissy Welford, his sister Sandra Wiggins, and brother Harold Wiggins. His memory will be cherished and celebrated by those he leaves behind, including his brother Charles Welford and wife Vickie, and his stepchildren: Brenda Dees, Toby Dees, Jeannie Barber, and Jerry Dees.

A private ceremony will be held at a later date, where friends and family will come together in remembrance of a man whose kindness touched many lives. While no formal public service will occur, the family encourages those who knew Joel to reflect fondly on shared memories and celebrate his legacy in their own special ways. Joel E. Welford's life was marked by warmth, generosity, and an unyielding love for those he held dear. His spirit will live on through the memories shared by family and friends, a testament to a life well-lived and deeply appreciated.
