Toni Hinson Sandel

Today, we  honor and celebrate the remarkable life of Toni Hinson Sandel, who left us on February 1, 2025, at the age of 66. Toni passed away peacefully in the early morning hours at Prisma Health Richland, surrounded by love and warmth. 

Toni was born on October 21, 1958, to Bill and Betty Carol Hinson in Columbia, South Carolina. From her early years, it was clear that Toni was destined to make a significant impact on the world around her. She graduated from Columbia High School and attended the College of Charleston, where she laid the foundation for a long and fulfilling career in Medical Coding. 

But beyond her professional achievements, Toni was a beacon of compassion and kindness. She had an unwavering love for animals and an innate ability to connect with those whom society often overlooked. As a lifelong advocate for individuals affected by disabilities, she devoted her heart and energy to championing their rights and dignity. Toni lived her life authentically, unapologetically embracing her beliefs and values, and inspiring others to do the same. 

Toni is predeceased by her beloved parents and her cherished grandmother, Allie Pardue Helms. Their love shaped her into the incredible person we remember today. 

She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength through her daughters, Cali Sandel (Chris) and Katherine Sandel, who were her pride and joy. Toni is also survived by her devoted sister, Lori Fowler (Dennis), and her brother, Gregg Hinson (Tami), along with their families, including her niece Erin Gravino Jeffords (Todd) and nephews Jack (Alex) and Landon Hinson, as well as a great-niece and two great-nephews.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, March 1st, at 1:00 PM at St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Chapin, located at 215 St Thomas Church Road, Chapin, SC. Let us come together to share our memories, our laughter, and our love for Toni as we celebrate her life. 

Toni Hinson Sandel may no longer walk among us, but her memory will forever be etched in our hearts.
