Alan Timothy Hunter, 60, passed away at his home in West Columbia on January 28, 2025.
Son of Colie Milford Hunter, Jr. and Carolyn Kleckley Smith, Alan was born on September 7, 1964 in Columbia, SC. He attended Brookland-Cayce High School and the University of South Carolina. He served in the SC Air National Guard and later worked in the field of IT consulting.
Alan had a deep appreciation for music and was skilled at both the guitar and piano. He also enjoyed playing pool, tennis (in his younger years), ping pong, and golf and he loved water skiing on Lake Murray. He was an avid Gamecock fan and cherished time spent with family and friends.
Alan was a long-time member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in West Columbia and previously served on the Church Council and property committee.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his mother and sisters, Cindy DiSarro (Jim) and Patti Addison (Jimmy), and other loving family members and close personal friends.

A private gathering to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
