Lucille "Lucy" Laura Paben

Lucille Laura Paben aka “Lucy,” 73 of Kersey, Co passed away on January 28, 2025.

Lucy was born in Greeley, Co to Howard “Dutch” and Mabel Walker on February 20, 1951. She married the love of her life John A Paben on April 27, 1970.

Besides her family and friends, Lucy loved to spend time at her family cabin in Glenn Haven, Co fishing for Brook trout and building memories. She also spent a great deal of time paddle fishing in Montana and Wyoming with her husband’s family. She worked for many years as the switchboard operator for Monfort Companies, Lunch lady at Platte Valley Schools and cleaning numerous houses for people. 

If she weren’t sitting in the back yard, you could find her these past few years in Goodyear, AZ sitting on the deck and watching all the golfers on hole one of the golf courses.  She loved watching the Arizona critters playing on the golf course, especially the roadrunners. Lucy was a very personable woman. She was always so easy to talk too and share life experiences whether you knew her or not. She loved watching the Denver Broncos and NASCAR and was able to attend the 2024 NASCAR Championship race in Phoenix, AZ this past November. She impacted so many lives and there will be a HUGE void with her passing. You could always find Lucy with Coor Light in one hand and a Cigarette in the other. 

Lucy is survived by her daughters; Dawn Marie (Gordon), Joleen (Chris), grandchildren; Demi, Michael (Kyleigh), Shelby (Denzel), Jordan, and Samantha (Tim), great grandchildren; Liam, Kacey, Huntleigh (to arrive in April) and Kody (to arrive in June) and a loving extended family.

Lucy was preceded in death by her husband, and parents.

A celebration of life will be held spring of 2025.
