Myrta Reynolds Anderson, 96, died January 13, 2025 at Bethesda Gardens, Thornton, Colorado. She was born at her Grandpa and Grandma Fred and Myrta Mellenbruch's home in Old Fairview on September 25, 1928, the fourth of eight children of Audrey and Ted Reynolds. She attended Old Fairview, Fairview Grade, Walnut Victory and Carson grade schools and graduated from Fairview High School with the class of 1945. During high school she worked at Munson Drug until it was destroyed by fire and then at Carpenter Drug Store which replaced Munson Drug.

Shortly after graduation she went to Colorado to visit brother Francis (Chuck) and family and immediately fell in love with the blue skies, warm September days and cool nights and knew that's where she wanted to stay. Fairview, however, was always in her heart and she visited it at least once a year every year but one until COVID and being 90+ years intervened.

She married Jim Taylor in 1947 and he died in 1971. They were parents of Kandas who died of a brain tumor at age 1, Paula and John. In 1978 she married Charles Anderson who died in 2020.

Her first job in Denver was as order filler at the Montgomery Ward Mail Order House at 57-1/2 cents per hour. She roller-skated around the large warehouse so that orders could be sent down a chute to the retail store in less than ten minutes.

She later advanced to secretarial positions within the company and in 1969 she began a secretarial position with the Denver Public Schools, which she enjoyed so much that after retirement she returned part time until the age of 85.

Volunteerism was a major part of Myrta's life; others were always a priority over herself. Whether it be building homes for Habitat for Humanity, assisting at a homeless shelter, serving as election judge, singing in the choir and other causes to numerous to mention she served her church, community, organizations and family tirelessly, always saying, “Yes, " when asked.

A genetic Democrat, she was very active on the political scene, advocating for causes and campaigning for candidates as evidenced by her iconic trademark Prius completely plastered with bumper stickers. In 2012 she and Charles were presented an award for Distinguished and Honorable Service by the Jefferson County Democratic Party.

She is survived by her daughter Paula Todd and her daughters Candice Dean and Audrey Todd, her son John Taylor (Cindy) and their children Shanna (Joey) Surratt and Jim Taylor (Taylor) and seven great grandchildren -- Sophia, Elysiana and Devina Delgado, Christian and Daniel Dean, Jaiden Taylor and Kylie Surratt. Audrey lives in Chicago and all others live in the Denver area. She is also survived by her

brother Paul Reynolds of Fairview, sister Anne (John) Frey of Mankato, MN, sister-in-law Bonnie Reynolds of Sabetha and a myriad of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Kandas; her husbands Jim and Charles; her brothers Francis (Chuck), Billy, Maurice, and John and her sister Marjorie Lantz Owen.

A Memorial Service will be held in early spring at St Andrew Lutheran Church, Arvada, Colorado, with inurnment with husband Charles at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado.

Memorials may be given to St. Andrew Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 6774 W 66th Ave, Arvada, CO 80003.
