Thelma M. (Loney) Thomas
March 20th, 1943 - January 22nd, 2025
Thelma M. (Loney) Thomas, 81, of Johnson Creek, WI, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, at Aurora Summit Hospital inSummit.
She was born on March 30, 1943, in Fennimore, WI, to Keith and Mildred Loney. Thelma grew up in the Prairie du Chien area.
Thelma met the love of her life, Leo Thomas, while he was on leave from the Navy. He winked at her, she winked back, and the rest is history. They were married on May 21, 1960, at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien.
As a military family, they traveled extensively. They were blessed with three daughters. The high point of their travels were going to England, Scotland, and Ireland.
Thelma was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She worked many years as an eyewear assistant. She enjoyed watching the Packers and playing cards with her daughter and granddaughters and going on road trips with Leo and their two "spoiled" Pekingnese. Thelma loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed many hours aboard their boat on the Mississippi River. She was considered a "mom" and "grandma" to many.
She will be deeply missed by her family: daughters-Lisa Shuppe of Jackson, Vicki (John)
Block of Sussex, and Pam (Greg) Koeppel of Helenville; seven grandchildren-Sean (Lori)
Conaway, Megan (Justin) Kubichek, Adrian (Nox) Shuppe, Kristine (Zack) Becker, Jon (Kirsten) Block, Trevor (Shannon) Block, and Sarah (Ian) Davies; several greatgrandchildren; sisters-Lavonne Fugate, Karen Stenslien, and Donna McCullick and brother-Keith Loney.
She is preceeded in death by her parents and husband, Leo Thomas.
Burial wilt take place at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetary in Union Grove, WI, at a later date to be determined.
