Mae Isabell Essick McQueen, 82, of Archdale, NC passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2025.
A native of Davidson County, NC, Mae was the wife of the late Fred McQueen and the daughter of the late Ella Mae Essick.
Survivors include her sons, Bill Wood, Glenn Wood, and Wayne Ladd; grandchildren, Danny Wood, Walter Glenn Wood, II, Waylon Wood, and William J. Wood; and great grandchildren, Walter Glenn Wood, III and Wynonah Wood.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mae was preceded in death by her sister, Ann Essick Manns; and brothers, Wayne Essick and Eddie Essick.
A graveside service celebrating Mae’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 7, 2025, at the North Lexington Baptist Church Cemetery, 201 Mize Road, Lexington, NC 27295. The family will greet friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the cemetery on Friday prior to the graveside service.
