Sheila Kay Barbea of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on January 31, 2025, at the age of 72. She was born on January 3, 1953, to Wanda and Elmer Carter.
Sheila was known for her feisty personality and her fierce dedication to the people she loved. In 1970, she married David Hatcher, and together they had two daughters, Christy and Kathy.
Sheila dedicated over 40 years to the medical field, working at Kino, St. Joseph’s, and spending the majority of her career at St. Mary’s Hospital. Beyond her professional life, she volunteered as a victim witness advocate with the Pima County Victim Witness Program, offering support and compassion to those in need.
After retiring in 2018, Sheila enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching her favorite TV shows, and playing games.
She is survived by her loving daughters, son-in-law, granddaughters, nieces, and nephews, all of whom will cherish her memory.
Services will be held at Adair Funeral Home, Dodge Chapel, on February 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with a viewing at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Pima County Victim Witness Program in Sheila’s honor.
