Eugenio (Joe) Roman Jr. of Salinas, California passed away on January 21st, 2025 at the age of 90. Joe was born on September 6, 1934 to Fabiana and Eugenio Roman Sr. in Tondo, Manila, Philippines.
he was known as a very humble, caring, loving person. Eugenio and wife, Gloria, married on July 7, 1958. He was loved by everyone.
He and his older son came to the US in 1978 when he was petitioned by his older sister Flora R. Care. His wife and the rest of six children followed a year after. His whole family settled in Santa Cruz, California. He worked for Intel Corporation and IDT Semiconductor. He moved to Salinas California in 1987 and continued working for IDT until his retirement.
Joe spent most of his time with his kids and friends after the passing of his wife and youngest son. He also enjoyed volunteering at Natividad Hospital and Fremont Elementary School.
Joe had the sweetest voice when it comes to karaoke, his friends even gave him the nickname "Joe cool".
Joe was predeceased by his siblings, Salvador Roman, Juanito Roman and Sagrada Ramos. He is survived by his siblings, Flora Care, Asuncion Aldip, and Victoria Reithknecht (Robert), his children, Sonny Roman (Feliza Roman), Emerlinda Roman, Lito Roman (Cynthia Roman), Albert Roman (Elenita Roman), and Ferdie Roman.
His Viewing will be Monday, February 10th from 1-5pm with a Rosary Prayer Service at 3pm at Healey Mortuary. His Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, Feb. 11th at 1pm at Madonna Del Sasso Church.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
