Richard "Richie" Paul O'Brien
June 24th, 1947 - January 31st, 2025
Richard Paul O’Brien (Richie)-Age, 77 of Punta Gorda, FL. Passed away at his residence on January 31st, 2025, of complications from pulmonary fibrosis. Richie was born on June 24, 1947, in Dublin, Ireland and was a native of Ireland and graduated from Senn High School in Chicago, Illinois He has been a resident of Punta Gorda for the last 26 years. He was a Collision Center Manager in both Sarasota and Charlotte Counties. Richie enjoyed golf, fishing, boating, traveling and cruising. He married his wife Cheryl on January 16th, 1982. He is survived by his wife Cheryl of 43 years, two sons; Paul (Michael), Danny (Baylee), three daughters, Julie (Rich) Serino; Lori (Paul) Reda and Nicole O’Brien, two brothers, James (Ann) Obrien of Chicago, Illinois, Declan O'Brien of Port Charlotte, FL and one sister, Carol (Mark) Kolb of Charlotte, North Carolina, Fourteen grandchildren, Sabrina, Emily, Hayden, Jaxson, Tanner, Avery, Scarlette, Benjamin, Archer, Gavin, Gia, Alex, Nate and Walter. He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard J. and Ann O’Brien and a brother, Frank O’Brien. A celebration of Rich’s life will be held on Saturday March 15th, 2025, from 2-5pm at 751 Del Ray Place Punta Gorda, FL 33950.
