John "Jack" F. Bayreuther
August 5th, 1933 - February 4th, 2025
JOHN F. “Jack” BAYREUTHER, 91 passed away on February 4, 2025 at Froedtert Hospital after a short illness.
Jack was born on August 5, 1933 in Jefferson, the son of Erwin and Frances (Hans) Bayruether. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1951. He married Mary Hauser on June 9, 1956 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Jack was a lifelong member of St. John’s.
Jack worked for the postal service for 35 years. He enjoyed watching the Cubs, Packers, Badgers and sitting on the hill at Fischer Field watching Jefferson baseball with the crew. Jack served in the United States Army for two years.
Jack is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Dan (Debbie) Bayreuther of Milton; son-in-law Mike Prosser of Jefferson; grandchildren Zach (Liz) Bayreuther, Katie Prosser, Haley (Joe) Sarow, Leah (Mark) Hernandez and Audrey Harrington; great-grandchildren Baker, Berkley, Mazie, Ike, Ali, Monty, Leander and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents, son Tommy; daughter Sue Prosser and brother Don.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Jefferson. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of service.
Memorials in Jack’s honor may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Jefferson Blue Devils or a memorial of choice.
