James Anderson Sharar, 88, of Summerfield, Florida, passed away on February 5, 2025, at Grace Davis Hall House, Ocala, FL.
James was born in Newport, PA, to the late John Sharar and Charlotte M. Clouser Hockenberry on January 10, 1937. Prior to his retirement he was a computer programmer for the State Police.
James was married to his wife of 61 years, Doris Arlene Flickinger until her passing in 2016. He is survived by a daughter, Luann Dias, a son, James L. Sharar, a sister, Dixie Steigelman of Marysville, PA. James has 4 grandchildren, Rochelle Mims, Asa Dias Jr., Matthew Sharar and James J. Sharar. He has 5 great grandchildren.
He was a Veteran of the United States Navy.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
