John William Murray, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, peacefully passed away on January 29, 2025. He was born in Reno, Nevada on March 18, 1949, to John Edward Murray and Margaret (Van Cleave) Murray.
John is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara, his two children, Karen Winkler (Warren) and Joanne Murray Holland (Randy), his three grandchildren, Joey Quick (Matthew), Kathryn Thomas (Kevin) and Johnathan Svec (Claire) and one great grandchild, Oliver Kevin Thomas.
During his work career John proudly served as a Police Officer and Detective with the Menlo Park, CA Police Department and later worked for Amador County Unified School District with the maintenance department.
Private services will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in John’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
