Hollis Wayne Grizzle, Sr.
June 25th, 1950 - February 5th, 2025

Hollis Wayne Grizzle Sr. 74, of Duffield went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Scott County, Virginia to the late Chester and Edna Grizzle. Hollis served his country in the U.S. Army which he retired from as a Seargent First Class in 1990. He was a member of Old Midway Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Hollis was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends as well as cooking. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sandra Grizzle; son, Anthony Grizzle; sister, Sharon Grizzle; brother, Larry Grizzle.
Survivors include his son, Wayne Grizzle Jr. and wife Rachel; daughter, Angela Szabo; grandchildren, Chaz Honaker and wife Ashley, Sgt. Cody Honaker and fiancé Brenlie, Carrigan Baltimore and husband Caleb, Hillary Grizzle, Courtney Grizzle, Hayden Kirchner, and Hannah Kirchner; great-grandchildren, Cadence Honaker, Callie Honaker, Colton Shaffer, Lincoln Shaffer, Maverick Baltimore, Connor Craig, Kaylen Craig, Kylie Haro, Carlos Haro IV, and Rowan Jackson; uncle, Johnny Kern and wife Valerie; sister-in-law, Patricia Castle; niece, Rebecca Rebbert; along with a host of friends and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Denny Hass and Bro. Jack McCracken officiating. Music will be provided by the Old Midway Church Singers.
A military graveside service will follow at the Grizzle Family Cemetery with honors conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3/265. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
