Barbara Mae Ricci

  Barbara Mae Ricci, age 77, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on January 26, 2025.

  We cherish the knowledge that she had a passion and love for Jesus.  Her smile and sparkling blue eyes brought warmth and joy to all who knew her.

  She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Michael Ricci and Christy Hobelman, and her son-in-law, Tony; her granddaughters, Abigail and Katelyn, her brother, Paul; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

  She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Thomas Ricci; her grandson, Noah Anthony Hobelman; her parents, Winton Franklin and Phyllis Louise Burns; and her siblings, Buddy, Don, Doug, and Diane.

  Born in Waltham, Massachusetts, on July 11, 1947, Barbara grew up in Reseda, California, with four brothers and a sister. She was a registered nurse, dedicating her career to caring for mothers and babies in labor and delivery, as well as providing hospice care and serving the homeless.

  She married the love of her life on August 16, 1969. Together they moved to Hawaii where they opened John’s dental practice and had their two children. Later, they returned to California and eventually settled in Colorado with many adventures in between.

  Barbara loved photography, painting, and spending time with her family. She had a huge heart for her three grandchildren whom she adored.

  Barbara will be missed more than words can express. We take comfort in knowing she is with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and that one day we will be reunited with her in heaven.
