Thomas Prebynski

June 26, 1937 – January 25, 2025

Thomas Christopher Prebynski, 87, passed away on January 25, 2025 after a long illness.  Tom was born on June 26, 1937 to Anthony and Gertrude Prebynski in Akron, Ohio.  He was the youngest of six siblings. After graduating from a vocational trade school, he worked for many years at PPG Industries in Barberton, Ohio where he became a pipefitter.

Tom met the love of his life, Sandra, on a blind date in 1967.  They married in 1968 and began their life together.  In 1973 the couple moved to Lakewood, Colorado where Tom took a job with Coors Construction.  Later he worked for Robinson Mechanical until his retirement.

From a young age Tom was active with Scouting.  He was a Cub Scout and a Boy Scout, and he was an adult leader of Venture crews in Ohio.  In Colorado he was a Webelos Den Leader and a leader for many years in Troop 548.  He enjoyed supporting his grandchildren in their Scouting activities.  He was a founding member of Christ on the Mountain Catholic Church.  He also loved sailing and was active in the Salty Dogs Sailing Club and enjoyed spending time at Lake Granby.

Tom loved his family and was very proud of and appreciated the time he spent with daughter Kerri, son Todd, and daughter-in-law Cynde.  He loved being Dzia Dzia to his grandchildren Tucker, Cooper, and Corrinne.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Christ on the Mountain Catholic Church, followed by a luncheon.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Tom’s honor to Parkinson's Foundation.
